Christmas Shopping in the Local Area

Day 1 - 12 Presents of Christmas
Browsing what is on offer each year in the shops and trying to find that perfect gift for family or friends can be a difficult task as there is often so much to choose from. Whether you are looking to buy from independent, local shops, or visit high-street brands, we have put together a selection of popular places for Christmas shopping in Sheffield.
Sheffield Christmas Market
In the heart of Sheffield’s city centre is the annual Christmas Market, which is located within Fargate, the Peace Gardens and The Moor. The market features 50+ log cabins to offer a fabulous shopping experience that allows you to support independent businesses. In addition to shopping, there is also the opportunity to relax at the Alpine Bar, or grab some food from the many food vendors. The market is set alongside high-street shops, making an ideal shopping location.
Kelham Island Museum - Victorian Christmas Market
Travel back in time to the Victorian era and experience lots of Christmas festivities in the Kelham Island Museum within one of Sheffield’s oldest industrial areas. Taking place on Saturday 3rd December and Sunday 4th December, when visiting this market you can be sure to find plenty of unique goods that are made in Sheffield. In addition to shopping at the stalls, there is food and drink to enjoy, a fairground,
live music, Christmas crafts in Santa’s Workshop and Santa’s Grotto. You can also explore Sheffield’s industrial past in the museum itself, including seeing the operating River Don Engine, which runs every hour. Admission tickets to the market for adults are £7.50 and children under 16 can enter for free.
Sharrow Vale Christmas Market
Situated in the South West of Sheffield is Sharrow Vale Road, a street that is lined with independent shops, cafes and restaurants. There is a market held three times a year, one of which being around Christmas time. This year the market will be happening on Sunday 4th December 12-4pm and is completely free to attend. Within the market you will find roughly 100 stalls from a range of businesses selling food, drink, plants, unique clothing and accessories. The shops and eateries alongside the market are also open on the day.
Of course we couldn’t speak about Christmas Shopping without mentioning Meadowhall. Providing the central hub for a variety of popular shops, Meadowhall is open 9am-10pm on weekdays, until 8pm on Saturday’s and 5pm on Sunday’s, giving you plenty of opportunity and time for browsing.
